Yes, that is right, the Keenpath blog is now available to be read on a Kindle. Click here to check out the details and subscribe through Amazon.
When I first read the announcement on TechCrunch that Kindle publishing is now available to all blogs I knew it would be something I would certainly be interested in doing with Keenpath. When I saw Kindle subscribers have to pay to subscribe via the Kindle it bummed me out a bit, because I publish this blog to be ready freely in multiple ways, however, why not offer another avenue, just in case.
To quote MG Siegler at TechCrunch:
And exactly how much Amazon will charge for each blog isn’t totally clear, other than Amazon says it will “define the price based on what we deem is a fair value for customers.” Most blogs currently go for $1.99 a month. Unfortunately, even if you want to, you can’t give your blog away for free on the device. Amazon has that WhisperNet to maintain, after all.
So while there is a chance the subscribe price may drop, I am not sure at this point as I don’t have any control over what Amazon charges for the subscription. What I can tell you for sure, is that as long as the service is fair and useful I will continue to publish this blog to Kindle. Hope its enjoyable.

I once visited with an elderly neighbor, who grew up during the Great Depression, about taking care of the things which we own and how doing so ensures the maximum life, quality and value of it. In listening to his experience having to work very hard to earn what he has, and how taking care of that makes all the difference, it becomes evident how as much as we apply this to our personal lives, this applies at the business level.
Businesses work hard to earn the means it has to make necessary purchases and investments, and this is necessary for growth and continued operation. With a common philosophy of do more with less, employers and their employees often get tasked with figuring out how they can get the most value out of products and services, and to look for more efficient ways to operate. read more

WHO (World Health Organization) raised the influenza pandemic phase to 5, out of 6. Dr. Margaret Chan released a statement on April 29 stating ” Based on assessment of all available information, and following several expert consultations, I have decided to raise the current level of influenza pandemic alert from phase 4 to phase 5. Influenza pandemics must be taken seriously precisely because of their capacity to spread rapidly to every country in the world. On the positive side, the world is better prepared for an influenza pandemic than at any time in history.” To view a chart of the current pandemic level click here.

As a part of any initiative, to put together a comprehensive action plan, and to implement the same, the necessary information needs to be discovered and calculated. Far beyond a trend, the greening of business, is an important step towards cost saving, while at the same time fulfilling a responsibility to the environment.
Technology industry analyst Doug Washburn provides three insightful points why its important to establish a green IT baseline:
- Guide your greening efforts with solid data. Avoid guessing about what to green first by referencing concrete statistics on energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and cost per IT asset.
- Create realistic goals. Measuring IT’s energy consumption will help you estimate the possible environmental and economic benefits of going green, ensuring your green-related goals are realistic.
- Quantify the benefits over time. Once you have implemented green upgrades to your IT assets, compare your new energy consumption to your baseline, highlighting both environmental and economic savings.
Additional things to consider: Discuss with business leaders about current energy budgets and compare with your green IT baseline. Propose a solution, and expose organization’s business leaders to the benefit of and importance of green IT initiative, with current and planned utilization. Inspire those around you by forming a green team, green initiative, along with marketing and whomever will join in sounding the voice.
The Green IT Baseline Calculator
In February 2009, Forrester Research introduced an online green IT baseline calculator, designed to help IT professionals and decision makers calculate their green technology baseline.
